5 Solas: Winter Camp 2018

GHCC's Winter Camp 2018 is tied into the church's Small Group Study for the Winter on the 5 Solas, but they wanted their own style and visual theme to distinguish it as a separate event. The direction became a Roman theme (so we could use the 5 as a Roman Numeral V) with Centurians vs. Gladiators as the main teams. It was very enjoyable researching this time period and culture. I have always had a fascination with Roman culture, so it was fun to explore it in an artistic way.

Vitals: GHCC Winter Camp 2017

This year's theme for Golden Hills Winter Camp was Vitals, with a tribal/Survivor style. I really wanted the colors to be warm for this theme, despite it being a winter camp. Exploring the things that are vital for life, warmth is one of them, and warm colors also seem to be incorporated into many tribal designs and clothing. The two teams for camp were Bios (representing physical needs) and Zoe (representing Spiritual needs). For Bios I made the logo a tiki statue to represent the physical in a tribal way, and for Zoe I made the symbol a flame to represent the spiritual in a tribal way. Had a lot of fun with this theme that visually is a lot different than what we've done for Winter Camps in the past.

Fynyshd: GHCC Winter Camp 2016

GHCC's Winter Camp this year had a Vikings theme with the title, Fynyshd (pronounced "finished"), and explores the story of the Gospel and Christ's finished work on the Cross. I love Vikings history so this was a fun project for me to explore and create.

For the apparel, I illustrated logos for the two teams (Dragons and Vikings) based on Norse carvings and artwork.

GHCC Winter Camp 2015

GHCC's Winter Camp begins this weekend, so I thought this was a good time to post the logo and promo materials for it. The theme this year is The Kingdom, with an emphasis on making God's Kingdom our top priority. To illustrate this, the idea of pirates searching for treasure will be the theme for the weekend. It was fun researching nautical symbols, sketching out different ships, and trying to get a rustic pirate feel for all the materials. This was a great project to work on.

The brochure was designed to resemble a treasure chest that opens up from the center to reveal all the info about the camp.

The ship illustration I made was used throughout, but really is displayed on the shirts and sweatshirt.

King's Kids Shirts 2011

I just finished this design for King's Kids, a choir for children K–2nd Grade. They have their Spring performance coming up and wanted a new, colorful & fun shirt for the kids to wear. I made the custom illustrations tailored to their requests. I don't do a lot of illustration anymore, and cartooning is my preferred style, so any chance I get to draw some characters is a lot of fun for me.

MSWC 2011: Zip-Up Hoodie

As you can tell from my last few posts, I have been doing a lot of apparel design recently (mostly due to the Winter Camps I have been involved with). So I figured I would continue the trend and post another recent design. Here's a Zip-Up Hoodie design for GHCC's Middle School Winter Camp, ENGAGE. The cityscapes open up and it says ENGAGE vertically down the hood.

Sofia: MSWC 2010

GHCC Middle School Winter Camp is coming up and I have put together the identity system for it. The theme is Sofia, a Greek word meaning Wisdom. I incorporated the Greek characters into the design. See the official Sofia website @ www.findsofia.info (site designed by Kyle Stillman).
