Became (John 1) Series
Kairos just launched a new summer series to study John 1. The series is titled Became and a lot of thought went into the artwork to match it up with many of the themes that will be explored over the course of the series. I spent a lot of time looking at the Bible text and figuring out some ways to express it visually. The final version appears simple, but there are actually some very complex hidden meanings:
The verb "to be" is similar to the "I AM" statement that God makes about Himself. The name "Became" is split up so that it could read "I AM CAME". In John 1, Jesus is described as the Word. The red letters are used in the Bible whenever Jesus talks, so the red "be" signifies that "the Word came". The flesh texture signifies that God became flesh and the red color throughout signifies the blood that the Word came to shed. Very complex ideas that definitely are not apparent upon first glance, but the goal is for these ideas and themes to be explored over the course of the series.

Wow, I love this! Such depth created by texture, colors, and the written word - quite the accomplishment if you ask me! Incredibly great work and a great explanation as well!
